Instrumentation Design Office (IDO) is software for creating and managing industrial instrumentation and control systems design data and documentation including instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, termination diagrams, hook-up drawings, I/O lists, instrument index, cable schedules, Bill of Materials and other reports. Glanford Control Stystems offer IDO software solutions for purchase and / or rental.

IDO consists of an integrated suite of software applications using advanced graphical user interfaces to a shared project or plant relational database. The user interface is intuitive and includes online help.

Much of the data is created through automated functions & design rules, pick lists and use of catalogue data and data importation. IDO essentially automates production of design documentation from the database ensuring superior design integrity and significant reduction in manual data entry.

Introducing Intellilink P&ID

The IntelliLink P&ID applications family enables P&ID drawings drawn in AutoCAD (or LT) to be electronically 'scanned' to check instrument data contained in drawings against data in the IDO Instrument Index. Any differences are reported and can (optionally) be imported/changed in the index. IntelliLink P&ID should work with most drawing symbols and is user configurable. IntelliLink P&ID can also import process line numbers, equipment numbers and inline items such as valves, reducers to create project reports on engineering data contained in the P&ID drawings scanned.

IntelliLink P&ID does not require AutoCAD for auto tag checking/scanning. However IntelliLink P&ID can use AutoCAD to create connectivity including line lists (with source/destination) and update IDO 'Plant Connection' data (i.e. line number/equipment number each instrument is connected to) from most existing AutoCAD P&ID drawings. You will not need to redraw P&IDs to get intelligent drawings!
